Back Home Again
Dreamed that Mother and I were driving down a neighborhood road when all of the houses began to look familiar. The trees and grass in this area were dying and the houses were mostly abandoned, dilapidated and falling down. I realized immediately we were back in Brownwood post Alicia. I exclaimed "We're in Brownwood!" and she turned down Greenbriar Road which connected Brownwood to Lakewood. I said "No no turn around!" and she started to turn around in a muddy area. I told her not to or we'd get stuck. It was getting dark but not full dark. We turned around and came upon one home that seemed to have been repaired and had electricity and people living there. Along the way there was a house here and there that seemed to have been spared. This one was on the bay side, a two story white board home and we knew the people there. We stopped and were talking about how they managed to repair their home, stay in the neighborhood, and how they intended to continue to stay in the neighborhood. The woman showed us the view and it was nothing short of spectacular. The bay spread out behind the home in a glorious postcard, the bay was whitecapping so the water was just beautiful. I woke longing for home.
