Back Home Again

Dreamed that Mother and I were driving down a neighborhood road when all of the houses began to look familiar.  The trees and grass in this area were dying and the houses were mostly abandoned, dilapidated and falling down.  I realized immediately we were back in Brownwood post Alicia.  I exclaimed "We're in Brownwood!" and she turned down Greenbriar Road which connected Brownwood to Lakewood.  I said "No no turn around!" and she started to turn around in a muddy area.  I told her not to or we'd get stuck.  It was getting dark but not full dark.  We turned around and came upon one home that seemed to have been repaired and had electricity and people living there.  Along the way there was a house here and there that seemed to have been spared.  This one was on the bay side, a two story white board home and we knew the people there.  We stopped and were talking about how they managed to repair their home, stay in the neighborhood, and how they intended to continue to stay in the neighborhood.  The woman showed us the view and it was nothing short of spectacular.  The bay spread out behind the home in a glorious postcard, the bay was whitecapping so the water was just beautiful.  I woke longing for home.

Repo . . .

I dreamed I was in Lufkin and stopped in at the bank where my cousin works to say hello.  While inside, my car was repossessed.  I called Mother to let her know what happened and told her I'd have my cousin drive me home and Mother would not hear of it.  She had me wait there until she could get the car back.  I waited and waited, at one point walking across a highway at night to go to a store to get something to eat and drink.  The next morning I was still there when the bank began to open and people were starting to ask questions.  I finally woke up, still waiting at the bank.

Back in the 'Hood . . .

I dreamed I was back in Brownwood and I was walking on one of the high streets.  I passed by the house of  the Plakes, neighbors and friends of ours.  They had turned their house into a haunted house, one of those that people go to on Halloween to get a good scare, and across the street a company was building a carwash, one of the multiple stall wand kind.  The scenery was bright day and the neighborhood the usual though I didn't see the bay as I would have back in the day.  All in all though it was an alright dream.
